Student Nurses Association

SNA (Student Nurses Association) is a national organization for nursing students. It was established in the year 1929.

The local SNA association for our Florence Nightingale School of Nursing is formed in the year 2009

Mission: – Promoting professional and social unity among the nursing students of this college, providing a closer bond and a more unified spirit among all nursing students through group activities and stimulating an interest and understanding in the program of the professional various nursing organizations.

Activities of SNA:- The SNA strives hard for the upliftment of the students through curricular, co-curricular extracurricular activities.

Executive Board Meeting: –

The board members plan the yearly activities under the guidance of SNA president Prof.Dr.S.Tamilselvi & SNA advisor Ms.Tamizharasi. This committee meet regularly, plan & discuss about various students nurse activities.

General Board Meeting: –

The general meetings were organized under the guidance of executive chairperson from various committees of following to discuss about various issues of students nurses.

20^th February 2010	SNA Executive Board Meeting	SNA election was conducted for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure, Chairperson for various committee students
24^th March 2010	World TB day	World TB day 2010 was celebrated at Government Hospital, Tiruvannamalai. Our Students of 20 members & 2 staff were participated.
12^th May 2010	International Nurses day	Nurse’s day celebrated in our school of nursing, Various competitions were held like dance, Speech etc., on the topic of qualities of nurse & scope of nursing & poetry. Prizes were distributed to students who won 1^st & 2^nd places.
15^th Aug 2010	Independence Day Celebration	Independence day was celebrated along with out Parenteral Hospital Ramana Maharishi Rangammal Hospital.
21^st Sep 2010	Educational visit – Yelagiri	An educational tour was arranged for DGNM II & I Year students for 2 days to Yelagiri. There the students participate in a programme on the topic “Life in fullness Endeavour Life” organized by Don Bosco School. Mr. Saul Nicholas & Mr. Leomaria Francis.
28^th Sep 2010	Lamp Lighting Ceremony	Lamp Lighting & Oath taking ceremony celebrated for I & II Batch students. The Chief Guests were Dr. Sugumar Dr. Salim ( RMR Hospital) Principal from various College of Nursing are also participate our Managing Director Ms. Sylvia Mary Wright addressed the Students.
16^th Nov 2010	Inaugurations of New Building Extension	District Collector Dr. N. Rajendran I.A.S. and Mr. Pichandi M.L.A Tiruvannamalai were inaugurated the New Building our Florence Nightingale School of Nursing. Compliments were given to the I Batch students who got 1^st and 3^rd place in Board Exams.
23 Dec 2010	Suppose Christmas Day Celebration	Suppose Christmas were celebrated along with out unit of Rangammal Memorial School for Deaf.
12 May 2011	International Nurses Day Celebration	Nurses Day was celebrated. General Quiz competition was conducted, and our Managing Director Ms. Sylvia Mary Wright distributed prizes for the winners.
19^th Aug 2011	Light Fest	Lamp lighting Ceremony for the III Batch students were celebrated. The Chief guest were Mr. Samuel N.J. David , Sr. Manager, HRN CMC Vellore & Dr. Kannan MD Chest Physician (RMRH).
6^th Jan 2012	Annual Day Celebration FEST 2012	Annual Day Celebration (FEST 2012) was organized & conducted at FNSN premises was the Chief Guest Prof. Mrs. Tamilselvi, Principal presided over the celebrations. Variety cultural feast was organized by the students.
26^th Feb 2012	International Workshop on Gerontological Nursing at Bangalore NIHANS Auditorium.	All I, II, III & Internship students along with all staffs of FNSN participate in the International Workshop on Gerontological Nursing. Various speaker from all over the world participated.
7^th April 2012	World Health Day – Medical Camp.	Medical Camp was organized at RMRH. Our students were participated & given health talk on various topics such as personal hygiene, Mental Health, Environmental sanitation for the patients & their attenders.
12^th May 2012	International Day for Nurses	International Day for Nurses was celebrated. All students of FNSN & staffs went to Raja yoga Meditation Center & attended a session of management skill, yoga & Meditation, Importance of Stress Management.
21^st Dec 2012	Sbogom Party (Farewell party)	Farewell party was organized by DGNM III year students to DGNM Internship I Batch students. Culturals were given by all Three years of DGNM students
28^th June 2013	Welcome party for Freshers	Bonvenon party Freshers Day Celebration for V Batch students.
5^th Sep2013	Teacher’s Day Celebration	Teachers Day Celebration various culture fest were organized.
12^th May 2014	International Nurses Day	International Nurses Day were celebrated sports, like Javelin throw, Badminton were organized.
18^th June 2014	Leprosy Survey Program	Leprosy Survey programme was conducted by Katampoondi Block PHC. I year & III year students of our FNSN Actively participated in Leprosy Surveillance for detecting cases covering 18 villages under Tiruvannamalai Panchayat Union.

13^th May 2017	Recreational Trip to Chennai	Am Recreational Trip was arranged for DGNM I, II, III year students visited Mahabalipuram, M.G.M. Amusement Theme Park.
26^th Sep 2017	Lamp Lighting Ceremony of IX Batch (2017-2018)	Lamp Lighting & Oath taking ceremony celebrated for IX Batch students 2017 – 2018.
2^nd Nov 2017	Recreational Tour to Yelagiri	One day recreational Tour was organized for all the students and all staffs in FNSN.
Jan 2018	Workshop on Autism	DGNM II & II year students along with two faculties participated on the workshop on Autism.
12^th Feb 2018	Campus Placement was conducted by Apollo Home Care from Chennai.	Campus placement from Apollo Home Care Chennai was arranged by Prof. Mrs. Tamilselvi, Principal of FNSN 16 students of DGNM got Placement.

Trained Nurses Association

In 1922, the Association of Nursing Superintendents and Trained Nurses Association were amalgamated and called The Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI).

The purposes of TNAI are:

  1. To uphold the dignity and honor of the nursing profession.
  2. To promote a sense of esprit de corps among all nurses
  3. To enable members to take counsel together on matters relating to their profession.

21^st Sep 2010	All the staffs of our institution are attended the programme held in DONBOSCO School in Yelagiri. The topic of the programme is “LIFE IN FULLNESS ENDEAVOUR” (LIFE). Under that topic Father Soul Nicholas & Mr. Leo Maria Francis, took Classes regarding purpose of life, team building spiritual moment.
